B has been in the studio mixing his new material recorded between 2007 and 2017. There has been a long period of seeming inactivity since Toll Road was recorded. Age and life-changes have a way of altering plans, but writing and dabbling in the studio have not ceased during this time. The next song he’s working on has gone through several variations since beginning work on it in 2018. The Akai MG1214 12-track recorder that was used in both Pebbles and Thinking Out Loud and the eleven songs recently mixed, appears to have breathed its last. No one has been found to work on this machine manufactured in 1988. Parts are no longer available. A small Tascam 8-Track digital unit was used on some of the recent tracks along with the Akai. For now, the 8-Track recorder will be used along with a local professional studio. There are several more musical works planned to complete this next album, so it will not be forthcoming anytime soon.
